Description

We are current working alongside a large national business who are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller into the business, and work alongside a successful management team. The role does offer the candidate the chance to become Finance Director within the next 6 months, which would give you the chance to spearhead the business as it continues to develop its 3–5-year strategy.

They have already seen substantial growth in its turnover recently, as well as increased market presence within the industry to become a leading UK operation, and currently operates across a few sites within the Northwest with its head office based within Central Lancashire, near the M65.

Due to changes at Board level the business requires a commercially focused Financial Controller who can support the MD over the next twelve months, and with changes in the market and technologies this is an exciting time to join them. The role will involve both financial and significant commercial influence and has several exciting projects for you to take ownership of under the guidance of a highly respected and focused MD.

 

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Responsible for the monthly management reporting pack and associated KPI’s with commentary, working closely with the Board of Directors
  • Preparation and improvement of detailed supporting schedules and timetables
  • Manage the Company Accountant and small finance team daily, ensuring the department meet all reporting deadlines and individual career needs are meet
  • Liaise closely with the Sales Directors about sales accounts/customers
  • Work closely with internal management to manage internal expenditure
  • Assist the MD with new business opportunities/sites that arise in the market, to grow and develop the current company presence
  • Responsible for the company contracts division with focus on cost management, reporting and development of service
  • Monitoring the performance of the internal sales departments reporting, margin reporting and internal processes
  • Manage the external supplier reports, ensuring best cost price and negotiating where necessary
  • Work closely with the credit control team to manage cashflow and assist with queries
  • Responsible for the reporting of the VAT and HMRC obligations
  • Produce effective contract analysis, including reoccurring revenue and pricing analysis and develop visibility across the company

 

The successful candidate will have a solid background and financial reporting but also be able to demonstrate commercial acumen/exposure within their previous roles. You will of course be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have a few years post qualifying experience.

It will require someone to think on their feet and be the leader in all aspects of finance as well as a solid people person with financial and non-financial personnel both internally and externally. The leadership team are well established, and they are looking for someone to come in and make their mark to support the continued growth and commercial opportunities.
