We’re currently recruiting for a thriving business based in the Rossendale valley, who are a family focused organisation and have a long history within their sector. They have a requirement for a detail-driven Finance Assistant to support and strengthen our finance team and work closely with their peers in the transactional processing across the department.
We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant who can support their peers and provide accuracy and tighter controls around the month end reporting cycle.
What you’ll do as Finance Assistant:
You’ll take ownership of majority of transactional processes and contribute to wider business activities, including:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently with associated reconciliation
- Managing internal expenditure across multiple cost centres and allocate costs accordingly
- Overseeing internal supplier contract management for all suppliers to the company
- Managing company credit cards and handling all cash payments
- Monitoring cashflow and overseeing daily banking activity across multiple currencies and bank accounts.
- Ensuring timely balance sheet and month end reconciliations and assist with accurate allocation of nominals
- Accruals and Prepayments.
- Assist with producing monthly financial reporting to support business decisions with budget holders.
- Develop controls and processes across the transactional reporting.
What you’ll need experience in:
- Proven experience in purchase ledger and sales ledger with full reconciliation, across multiple cost centres
- Strong understanding of internal expenditure workflows and budget control
- High attention to detail and strong Excel skills
- A proactive, team-focused mindset and a willingness to support broader business events
In addition, the ideal candidate will be highly organised with excellent problem-solving capabilities and communication skills. You will possess a number of years’ experience within the finance function and be able to bring that expertise to this busy department . You should be commercially minded and understand how businesses operate financially both with the finance team and wider departments.
